On Saturday, Randy and I had the pleasure of photographing Mandy and Matt’s wedding in Courtenay on Vancouver Island. We were both really looking forward to being a part of their day, with Randy having known Mandy for years through their home church. We were blessed with a perfect day weather-wise in the valley, a warm summer day with a breeze. Mandy was the picture of calm the morning of her wedding day! When I arrived to photograph the girls, she was smiling away while her hair and makeup was done. All of her friends were a joy to spend the morning with and it truly made my job a breeze.
Mandy and Matt chose to have a First Look, which I’m all about. They chose the spot of their proposal this past winter as the perfect place to see each other. I absolutely loved Mandy’s reaction to Matt seeing her! It’s too cute.
After the First Look, we met up with the bridal party for some photos near the water! It was a hot, bright afternoon but the bridal party was absolutely wonderful to work with. Loved how they laughed on a dime and seemed to enjoy every bit of the photos. ;)
Advantage to having your husband shoot weddings with you? This photo! (By the way, Randy is shooting 4 more weddings with me this summer, basically any wedding I am traveling for! I’m so excited!)
Courtenay really is such a beautiful town.
I loved Mandy and Matt’s colour scheme. Mandy’s pink shoes matching the girl’s bouquet ribbon and Matt’s vest and tie… and the bridesmaid dresses matching Mandy’s bouquet ribbon. So adorable.
The ceremony took place at Mandy and Matt’s church, where Matt is on staff as the youth pastor. I loved Matt’s expectant look here!
After the ceremony and family photos in the park, we finished with a few portraits near the bridge in town. Love this beautiful light and the colours behind! Mandy and Matt, thank you so much for having me as your photographer! We were so thrilled to be there, not only as guests, but as photographers! ;) Hope you’re having a wonderful time in Mexico.
