Engagement Session

ballpark engagement session: jessica+scott

oh blind dates… the anticipation and nervousness of who you’ll see when you enter that coffeeshop, turn that corner after the entrance into the bar, glance over to the window booth at the restaurant. jessica and scott were pleasantly surprised on their blind date seven years ago. jessica met scott, scott met jessica. they decided this was the start of somethin’ good. a friend of jessica’s mom [tammy] met scott at a mutual friend’s house. she asked if scott was single. he was. tammy called jessica once she left the house, “oh by the way, i met the man you’re going to marry. here’s his email.” jessica [only nineteen-years-old at the time] emailed scott and they met up a couple of weeks later, during game one of the hockey play-offs. ;) they have been dating for eight years now!

jessica and scott booked me for their july 2011 wedding via email this spring. i knew from jessica’s questionnaire that these two seemed like so much fun: i love their story, love their interests, love hearing about what they love about one another. scott and jessica are both huge baseball fans. they’ve both played elite level baseball in the past and love everything about the ballpark. they love driving to seattle to see an MLB game whenever they can! they love road trips: they took their first road-trip to california after only three months of dating! i absolutely loved shooting their session last friday–we laughed way too much and i felt so comfortable with these two. can’t wait to get to know them even more during their wedding.

a few last notes: obviously, the baseball park is a fitting location for their engagement shoot, but we also finished up at the railroad tracks because scott is a railroad engineer. i hope that’s the right title. probably not. but he works on tracks all throughout langley and surrey. he knew exactly which ones weren’t in use at that time of day–pretty useful information. ;) the spot we took the very last photo at, he looks down at the ground and sees a glove, “that’s mine. it’s been there for eight months.” jessica, “how do you know it’s yours?!” scott laughed, “because i dropped it there eight months ago!” jessica, “are you going to pick it up?” scott, “no! eight month’s history and counting.” hahah! i love it. so much love to you two! enjoy!
