Engagement Session

best of: 2010 engagement sessions.

it’s that time of year again. here come the “best of” blog posts! this year, like last year, i’ll be counting down the most popular engagement sessions [fan favourites, if you will] based on the amount of comments received. i’ll also be making a few “honourable mentions” that may not have been fan favourites but they were certainly MY favourites. and it’s my blog. so i figure i have a right to throw ’em in. there’s something fun about doing this–seeing what sessions were the most popular with my readers & trying to analyze why.

if you blog, i encourage you to do the same! was it the way you spent time writing out their story? was it the location, the emotion, the chemistry you had with that couple? think back to what you felt like as a photographer while you were shooting these sessions. more often than not, i find that the most popular sessions are the ones where i felt most inspired. easy enough conclusion—the challenge is trying to find that inspiration for every session. that’s my goal for 2011. growth & more growth!

alright, first up we have, as the third most popular engagement session, liz & derek:

they were cute. loved that session. secondly, as the second most popular engagement session are my friends: stacy & dane.
// see their blog post.
// watch their slideshow.

adorable. loved the laundrymat.
& finally, it’s no surprise, because everything this woman does is a HIT, the most popular engagement session of 2010 is that of laurell & trevor:

enough about what you liked, what about me? my favourite engagement sessions of 2010 that deserve some recognition are:

heidi & bryce’s white rock engagement session
// see their blog post.
// watch their slideshow.

erin & maclean’s engagement session
// see their blog post.
// watch their slideshow.

[and i know this isn’t an engagement session but i don’t blog enough portraits to have a “best of” portraits post] sam & leanne’s portrait session which was also the most commented-on post out of all engagement sessions/portrait sessions. yeahhhh, i have hot friends.
