Portrait Sessions

see you soon, kaitlyn.

i admire kaitlyn. i admire anyone who can leave their home for six months and fly halfway across the world to stay with a bunch of people they’ve never met. i couldn’t do it. i can be on planes, in airports, in hotel rooms all the time, but i like coming home after a week. two weeks max. i haven’t known kaitlyn for that long; to be honest, i don’t even know her that well. i do know that she is following the Lord’s calling for her life & that calling has led her to YWAM Perth. another thing i do know: she makes a delicious americano. any girl that can do that is A+ in my books. she’s been a barista at one of my favourite coffeeshops, porter’s in murrayville, for the past few months. another thing i know: her sid the sloth impression from ice age brings me great, great joy.

i visit porter’s a lot. i always loved chatting with her while i worked. made me miss my barista days: stories of crazy customers and lunch rushes. i know a lot of long work hours, prayer & money saved has gone into this six-month-adventure. i was excited to say goodbye to kaitlyn with some fun photos as a parting gift. another one of my friends, dear makaela, is leaving in five days for YWAM Chico, so she is in some of these shots too. kaitlyn left on a jetplane last week & from what i hear she’s settled into the base safe and sound. ;) i’ll be blogging makaela’s post later. enjoy!

ywam perth is an amazing base and ywam in general is one of the best decisions any one could make for an amazing experience! Have fun Kaitlyn! Ywam equipped me for not only a deeper relationship with the Lord, but helped me get through losing our boys a fews years down the road. I’m so grateful for this organization!

  6. Joe says:

Why did you cut off her fingers so much in the framing? Looks weird.

  7. Ahhh, gotta love people who offer unsolicited CC on blog images, eh? Love these, Jamie!
