Tessie and Dale had a beautiful wedding at the False Creek Community Centre on Granville Island. In the morning, Tessie prepared for the day with 10 of her close friends at an AirBNB in Kitsilano, not too far from where her and Dale live. I loved seeing the joy amongst her friend group and the choice to get ready together was a perfect substitution for not having a traditional wedding party.
The June weekend weather was overcast, but warm—basically ideal for a Vancouver Summer wedding! Tessie and Dale chose to have a First Look at Vanier Park, where we took advantage of the overcast skies to capture Vancouver’s waterfront in their portraits. Their ceremony was indoors at the community centre, and full of so much life and love and laughter!
Something that struck me as I looked through Tessie & Dale’s images, especially from their reception, was the love present in the room from their community. I was able to capture so many beautiful, candid smiles of their guests—and that was because everyone was having so much fun! I was honoured to be a part of Tessie and Dale’s day and I hope you enjoy their False Creek Community Centre wedding photos below.
