A few months ago, I received an incredibly special text from a friend. She asked if I remembered her little sister Katie, who was a junior bridesmaid (at 9 years old) at her wedding that I photographed 12 years ago? Of course I did! Well, she said, believe it or not, that little 9 year old is now 21 years old and recently engaged and planning her own wedding. My friend said “My sister loves your photos all of these years later and would be delighted to have your photographer her own wedding just like you did mine!” (This is my paraphrase, hahah.)
Oh my goodness, what a compliment! I was thrilled that I was available for their date in July, and so on July 27 I made a day-trip from my apartment in Vancouver to Madeira Park on the Sunshine Coast. The wedding took place on their extended family’s 80-acre private property and it could not have been a more beautiful day or setting for Katie and Tyson’s wedding.
Katie and Tyson met while attending bible college, and fell in love last year. They were united as one in a beautiful, meaningful ceremony with the love and support of both of their families. It was really special to see these two bright, generous, joyful young adults commit to loving one another in the covenant of marriage, come what may. And I was honoured to be chosen as Katie and Tyson’s wedding photographer, and to photograph Katie as a BRIDE (and not a 9-year-old bridesmaid… like the last time we were in the same room together.) Enjoy a glimpse into their magical day below!
Again such a beautiful backdrop …I am sure they will love their treasured photographs…
