It was the wedding of a mutual friend and they were placed at the same table. A set-up, of sorts, both Karen and Peter equally unaware of this fact. At the end of the evening (after Peter had caught the garter in the garter toss!) he asked Karen for her phone number. They dated. They fell in love. They got married on June 26th and guess what garter Karen wore on her leg? The one Peter caught four years ago. ;) Too cute.
Karen & I met for coffee back in the fall/wintertime at Starbucks. I loved her quiet spirit and her gentle heart. Her love for Jesus truly shined through her and I knew Peter must be a special guy. I didn’t meet Peter until the wedding day when my second shooter & I arrived at New Westminster Christian Reformed Church on June 26th. In the afternoon at crescent beach during the portrait time I got to capture Karen & Peter’s love. This couple is full of joy and quiet laughter together. They are the definition of a comfortable, confident love. I also appreciated that Karen & Peter were all about great photos on their wedding day and set aside tons of time in the day for us to play!

Ah! Love those shots in the field-flowers. Skin tones are almost perfect there!
Love the story of the garter! Honestly, it’s one of the traditions I consider dumb, but this makes me rethink it a little. ;-)
