so, i want to hear your story. when did you meet? who liked who first? when did you start dating? i asked matt and his fiance jen last week as we wandered throughout fort langley. you tell the story, jen, matt nudged. she laughs. well, i’m from california, i was up here for school and had a boyfriend back home. we were doing the whole long-distance thing. it was february, i had just returned from reading break [which i spent home in california with him] and i went to a party in langley that night. matt was there. i don’t remember liking him or thinking anything other than “he’s being pretty flirty.” my other relationship was nearing the end, and i knew it. so i broke up with my boyfriend the next week. matt & i started dating by the end of that summer.

hey, until she’s got a ring, she’s not taken, right?! ;) these two people are so good lookin’ together. i know matt from the church i used to attend: met his family probably seven years ago now–pretty sure i had one of his sisters, megan, in my weekly bible study lifegroup and am also friends with his sister alyssa. in our teenage years, matt and i were in youth together. fun fact we laugh about now: i was his grad date and the most awkward sixteen-year-old grad date of life. we had probably spoken ten words to each other before that night. it was awful. bahahah. two years later, we became leaders together at youth and i got to know matt finally as a friend & his heart for youth, church & family. he is an awesome guy and jen is the sweetest girl. she’s a year away [i think!] from finishing her nursing degree at TWU and recently spent a month in zambia on a travel-study. she was still battling jet-lag this day. ;) i know the Lord has incredible things in store for them as a couple, starting with their august wedding. thanks for letting me photograph you guys. i enjoyed it so much.
