pretty interesting phenomenon happened at the tail end of this wedding season… three weddings in a row at brock house restaurant! no idea how that happened but laura & iain’s september 4th wedding brought my “weddings shot at brock house” total to five, making it my most-photographed venue. i ain’t complaining! fabulous food, great views, plenty of nice heaters for when the tent gets chilly… not that we needed those on sunday! just saying, it’s a nice feature.
this has been the hottest week of the summer for vancouver so far, and only getting hotter everyday. it all worked out perfectly for laura + iain’s evening ceremony–we started with a first look at 4 o’ clock and then had an hour of relaxed photo time. only eighty guests were in attendance for the wedding, which made it such a personal affair. i loved the simple white chairs circling the giant tree in the backyard of the restaurant–the light for the six thirty ceremony was divine. laura + iain were all about spending quality time with their wedding guests and i loved how they set aside over an hour to enjoy drinks on the back lawn. dinner started at eight o’ clock and the evening had a limited program: truly allowing for a ton of relaxed conversation and laughter.
it was a pleasure to be a part of your day, laura and iain! loved getting to know your families and spending those six hours with you. have a wonderful, safe move to newfoundland in the upcoming months!
Fabulous photos Jamie!! it’s fun to see other weddings at BH.
It looks like you know all the best spots for the perfect shots Jamie! One advantage for shooting the same venue more than once:)
Yeah so when I marry a kilt-wearing Scotsman I’m want to have you take my pictures. Just sayin’.
Cute!
